CEC: Based on preliminary results, Kakha Kaladze leads in Tbilisi mayoral elections with 71.55 percent

Based on the preliminary results of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Kakha Kaladze is leading in the Tbilisi mayoral elections with 71.55 percent. Kaladze has been re-elected as the mayor of the capital for a third term.

According to the CEC, votes from 584 of 572 polling stations are counted, which constitutes 97.94% of the total number of polling stations.

Based on the CEC data, the votes were distributed among the Tbilisi mayoral candidates as follows:

Kakha Kaladze – 71.55%;

Irakli Kupradze – 12.45%

Iago Khvichia – 7.52%

Zurab Makharadze – 4.12%.

Nine candidates have been registered for the Tbilisi mayoral elections.

Preliminary data from the Central Election Commission shows that the Georgian Dream party received 70.15% of the vote in the Tbilisi City Council elections. According to the same preliminary results, the party also won local self-government elections in all regions.
