Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II delivers Easter Epistle

His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, has delivered his Easter Epistle, offering spiritual reflection, encouragement, and a call for unity and peace amid today’s global challenges.

Addressed to the faithful of the Georgian Orthodox Church in Georgia and abroad, the Epistle opens with the traditional Paschal greeting, “Christ is Risen!”—a reminder of the eternal joy and hope found in the Resurrection.

He urges the faithful to embrace humility, patience, compassion, and peace. The Epistle highlights the need for deeper reflection in today’s fast-changing, troubled world marked by conflict, instability, ecological crisis, and constant stress.

“Many complex processes are unfolding in the world. Time seems to have accelerated; events and views are rapidly shifting. Despite the great will of peacemakers, achieving peace remains difficult.”

“May God bless the peacemakers. May He grant peace to the world.”

The Patriarch concludes by calling on the faithful to glorify God in all they do and offers a prayer for peace and a blessing to the nation:

“May the Risen Savior grant you joy. Easter is the hope of eternity, the defeat of hatred, the triumph of forgiveness, and the celebration of love.”
