British Embassy urges political actors to act responsibly

The British Embassy urges political actors in Georgia to act responsibly, diffuse tension, and allow the country’s continued progress towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

“This is a difficult period. As a friend of Georgia, we urge all involved to act responsibly, diffuse tension, and allow Georgia’s continued progress towards Euro-Atlantic integration. A protracted crisis is in no one’s interests. The people of Georgia deserve better,” Embassy tweeted.

Tbilisi City Court ruled custody for the Chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party on Wednesday. Following the court verdict, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia resigned. Gakharia said he failed to agree with the ruling Georgian Dream party over Nika Melia’s case.
