British Embassy calls on remaining opposition parties to sign agreement
“I welcome the fact that so many parties and individuals have signed President Michel’s agreement”, British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton told reporters on Thursday.
He called on the parties that had not yet signed the agreement to show courage and join the document.
“Britain fully supports the agreement reached between the government and the opposition. I welcome the fact that so many parties and individuals have signed the agreement. We fully urge the parties that have not yet signed the agreement to show courage. It is an important step for Georgia and its future. It is important for the country’s progress and its integration into Euro-Atlantic structures,” Ambassador declared.
Most of the Georgian political parties signed A way ahead for Georgia, a compromise document submitted to the parties by the European Council President Charles Michel, at the Orbeliani Palace on April 19.
