British Defense Secretary: Russia achieved international isolationism and humiliation
British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace echoed the Russian withdrawal from Kherson describing it as their “strategic failure.”
“Russia’s announced withdrawal from Kherson marks another strategic failure for them. In February, Russia failed to take any of its major objectives except Kherson. Ordinary people of Russia should ask themselves: ‘What was it all for?” reads the statement by British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace posted on Twitter.
He added that the Russian army had suffered a huge loss of life as a result of their illegal invasion of Ukraine and achieved only international isolationism and humiliation.
“Ukraine will press on [at the front]. The UK and the international community will continue to support them. While the withdrawal [of Russians from Kherson] is welcome, no one is going to underestimate the continuing threat posed by the Russian Federation,” Wallace stressed.
