British Ambassador: UK supports Georgia's aspirations to become EU, NATO member
Mark Clayton, British Ambassador to Georgia, on Wednesday, said the United Kingdom “absolutely supports” Georgia’s aspirations to become a member of the European Union and NATO.
Ambassador Clayton went on to say that “the most important thing is for all parties to come together and work hard to meet those 12 points,” by European Commission.
“Every single opinion poll I have seen says the overwhelming majority of people want to join the EU and NATO and every single major political party says that it’s their goal.
I think the most important thing is for all parties to come together and work hard to meet those 12 points and take Georgia forward to EU membership. That’s what the people say they want,” British Ambassador underscored.
