Borjomi: 90% of fire pockets contained, MIA says

So far, firefighters have contained 90% of fire pockets, continuing to extinguish the remaining 10%, Georgia’s Interior Ministry (MIA) reported on Friday.

Personnel from the Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, and Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, four border police helicopters, and three Turkish specialized firefighting aircraft are involved in the extinguishing works, the MIA stated.

Firefighters have been battling the forest fire in Borjomi Municipality since August 19.
