Border police helicopter involved in putting out forest fire in Borjomi

The border police helicopter has been involved in putting out a forest fire in Borjomi Municipality, near Kvabishkevi village, the Emergency Management Service reported on Sunday.

Firefighting and rescue equipment couldn’t be brought to fire pockets due to the difficult terrain, the agency said, adding that powerful winds also contributed to the current situation.

“Tbilisi rescue teams have also been dispatched to the spot due to the fire spreading risks” the agency noted.
