Border Police detain four foreign nationals for crossing state border unlawfully in group

Officers of the Border Police detained four foreign nationals for crossing the state border in a group unlawfully.

The investigation determined that the detained individuals, born in 1991, 1984, 2003 and 2004, attempted to cross the state border, bypassing the Sarphi checkpoint of the Batumi Department border sector in the direction of Turkiye.

The investigation is underway under Article 19-344, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
