Body of Georgian fighter killed in Ukraine transported to Tbilisi

Jambulat Khoperia, a Georgian fighter who was killed in Ukraine, was returned to his home country as family, friends, and politicians gathered at the Tbilisi International Airport.

Jambulat Khoperia, 25, has been fighting in Ukraine since the beginning of the war. He was poisoned with a chemical agent during the shelling; the therapy was futile, and the Georgian fighter died in the hospital on December 1.

The war between Russia and Ukraine killed 33 Georgian fighters.
