BLCU President: China-Georgia university alliance to be created
“The first visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his delegation to China after the establishment of Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) would surely go down in the history of the BLCU and become an important stage in the promotion of China-Georgia friendship,” said the president of the university, Yuyan Xueyuan, on Sunday.
in his speech at the unveiling ceremony of the 12th-century Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli’s bust at the University, Xueyuan continued: “We will create a China-Georgia university alliance, take responsibility and support the creation of a base of Chinese colleagues in Georgia, paving a way for a better future in the field of education in the two countries.”
“Second, viewing language and culture as a bridge will assist us in broadening the discussion platform between Chinese and Georgian civilizations. Various cultural days and weeks will be organized on a regular basis.
Third, people-to-people exchanges between China and Georgia will also be promoted. We call on the youth of the two countries to visit each other’s countries and hold more youth forums to strengthen the public support for our friendship,” the BLCU president noted.
