Hadja Lahbib, Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions, will arrive in Georgia on August 23-24 as part of her South Caucasus tour.
Belgian FM will pay a 4-day visit to the capitals of the South Caucasus countries, Tbilisi, Yerevan and Baku. According to Hadja Lahbib, the promotion of long-lasting peace in the South Caucasus region is the goal of her visit.
“Heading to Yerevan, Tbilisi, and Baku for a four-day journey filled with meaningful encounters. The goal: to promote, on behalf of Belgium and in line with the stance of the EU, lasting peace in the region and the strengthening of the bonds that unite us,” she tweeted on August 22.
In Tbilisi, Georgia, Hadja Lahbib will meet Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and representatives of the Georgian Orthodox Church. She will be hosted by President Salome Zourabichvili.
Belgian FM will also visit the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) and the memorial of heroes who died in the fight for Georgia’s territorial integrity.
