Basketball: Georgia ranks 23rd in FIBA rating #1TVSPORT

Georgia ranked 23rd in the European teams rating published on the official website of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The FIBA said that Georgia has advanced to the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers following a successful double-header against Denmark in the February-March 2026 window.

Georgia has two important matches ahead, against Ukraine and Spain (in July).

“One thing is for sure – Tornike Shengelia’s MVP potential. He played two more games at a high level and once again solidified his status as one of the most highly regarded basketball players in Europe,” FIBA said.

Turkiye is in first place in the rating, Poland is in second, and Spain is in third.
