Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Thursday said Armenia rejected trilateral format of cooperation.

At the World Economic Forum’s session, Aliyev explained that “Armenia is not here, because our proposal with Georgia to start trilateral format of cooperation was rejected by Armenia.”

He went to say that he highly valued “the efforts of my friend Irakli Garibashvili who hosted the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia and Georgian colleague joined, so our suggestion was for leaders to meet in Georgia.”

“Georgia always historically was place where all the neighbours met but Armenia is not ready for that. And this is one of the potential risks, because if free Caucasus countries unite the efforts in energy, transportation, security, stability, border delimitation, the region will be much safer,” Azerbaijani President  stressed.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev together with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili participated in World Economic Forum’s session on ‘Eurasia’s Middle Corridor: From Pathway to Highway.’
