Azerbaijani President: Armenians and Azerbaijanis live side by side in Russia, Ukraine, Georgian villages
“Armenians and Azerbaijanis live side by side in Russia, Ukraine and even in the same villages in Georgia,” said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Euronews.
According to Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is a multinational country and different ethnic groups have no problems on religious or ethnic grounds.
“I would like to say again that Azerbaijan is a multinational country, and not a single ethnic group in Azerbaijan has ever experienced any fears or problems on religious or ethnic grounds. Any person who knows Azerbaijan can confirm this.
And, by the way, the Armenian population lives today without any problems in different parts of Azerbaijan. Armenians and Azerbaijanis live side by side in Russia, Ukraine and even in the same villages in Georgia. Why can’t they live with the same success in Azerbaijan or Armenia? I think they can,” he said.
