Azerbaijani FM pleased with Georgia’s successful 2024 elections, ongoing ministerial and parliamentary dialogue

“We are pleased that last year Georgia’s parliamentary elections concluded with great success, and intensive dialogue is ongoing between various ministries and parliaments,” declared Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to him, the high-level political dialogue between Georgia and Azerbaijan represents confirmation of centuries-old neighbourly relations.

“On behalf of myself and our delegation, I extend great gratitude to Madam Minister and the Georgian side for the invitation and hospitality. The dynamics and intensive nature of meetings between delegations is very gratifying. My visit to Georgia in June last year and Madam Minister’s visit to Baku in January this year have taken place. We are in Georgia again. I hope this positive momentum will continue in the coming months.

Today we had both face-to-face and expanded meetings. We discussed friendly, neighbourly relations between our two countries, relations based on a strategic partnership.

High-level political dialogue, as already noted, represents centuries-old neighbourly relations between our countries, continuing within the framework of international legal norms and standards.

Madam Minister has already noted that Azerbaijan and Georgia always support each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, both in bilateral format and in all international formats. I am pleased that very sincere and intensive relations exist between our leaders, with good dynamics in the context of high-level meetings. We are pleased that last year Georgia’s parliamentary elections concluded with tremendous success.

The Georgian Prime Minister’s first visit to Azerbaijan after the elections, and the Georgian President’s first visit to Azerbaijan in April of this year, once again confirm the existing relations and mutual respect, friendly relations between our countries. Exactly the same intensive dialogue exists between our various ministries and parliaments. Very exemplary cooperation is ongoing between our parliaments,” declared Jeyhun Bayramov.
