Azerbaijani, Armenian Defence Ministries accuse each other

Azerbaijani Defence Ministry says “On July 20, at about 22:10, Armenian armed forces units from the positions in the direction of Istisu settlement of the Basarkechar region using large-caliber weapons subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions in the direction of Istisu settlement of the Kalbajar region. The Azerbaijan Army Units took adequate retaliatory measures in the mentioned direction.”

Armenian Defence Ministry rejected the claims, saying “the MoD of Azerbaijan spread disinformation.”

“The statement from the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, alleging that on July 20 at 22:10, units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire towards Azerbaijani combat positions in the eastern part of the border, does not correspond to reality,” reads the statement.
