The Asian Development Bank has approved a 415 million USD investment in the construction of the Kvesheti-Kobi road, – Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated during the briefing before today’s government meeting.
This issue will be discussed by the Cabinet at today’s meeting.
According to the Head of Government, the project involves numerous structures, and a 9-kilomter long and 15-meter wide tunnel will be built. The project is unique in both regional and global terms.
“This component of Georgia’s spatial development is the most capital intensive and expensive, and complex in engineering terms. By signing this contract, we have finalized contracting the development of our critically important infrastructure that incorporates both the East-West and North-South Corridors. It is not just an infrastructural project. It is thanks to the actualization of projects of this magnitude and significance that we will be able to cut and overcome poverty, the most painful challenge facing our citizens,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
