Armenian FM: Armenia-Georgia cooperation develops in all directions

“Armenia-Georgia cooperation rapidly develops in all directions. With expanding cooperation in the customs sector, we can achieve significant results, and contribute to intensifying business and people-to-people contacts,” said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan following the meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.

According to the Armenian FM, Georgia and Armenia confirmed on the highest level that they respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the two countries.

“It is significant that mutual understanding was established between our countries so that delimitation-demarcation processes between Armenia and Georgia continued peacefully and be completed. I would like to remark that amid ongoing geopolitical and regional developments, which are rapidly developing, mutual activity on international platforms is essential.

Today, we had the opportunity to review all events, the situation in the South Caucasus, and the challenges facing Armenia and Georgia. Armenia accepted Georgia’s EU candidate country status granting with enthusiasm that has great significance not only in the Armenia-Georgia relations context but also in regional events context.

I want to stress that the Republic of Armenia also has a relationship with the European Union, the formation of a new agenda, our visions and perspectives. In the context of this relationship, we have directions that have not been discovered before,” he said.

Ararat Mirzoyan added that Armenia was ready to regulate relations and establish diplomatic relations with Turkey.
