Archil Talakvadze: The more successful Georgia is, the more Russia tries to hinder it

“Bilateral relations with Russia can be normalized after the de-occupation of our territories, when Russian troops, who have been illegally staying in two regions of Georgia, will leave our territories,” said the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Archil Talakvadze.

According to Talakvadze, “so far, no significant political decision has been made by Russia to implement the 2008 ceasefire agreement.”

The Chairman of the Georgian Parliament noted that “Russia is trying to hinder Georgia’s democratic development.”

“Statements alone cannot change the dire developments happening in both occupied regions, such as serious human rights violations, incidents and provocations that occur regularly.

The more successful Georgia is, the more Russia tries to hinder it. One of the means of doing so is spreading disinformation.

The Georgian government and our political team, which has a clearly defined pro-Western policy, are doing everything possible to ensure that people have objective information and make informed decisions,” stressed Talakvadze.
