Applications of 42 presidential candidates willing to run in the 2018 presidential elections have been submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the time being – Ana Mikeladze, Press Speaker of CEC reported.
September 8 is a deadline for parties/initiative groups to apply to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia for candidate registration. Presentation of candidates must be confirmed with no less than 25 925 (0,75% of voters) signatures.
Twenty three initiative groups and 19 parties presented their candidates. Four candidates are already officially registered. The candidates are Mikheil Gela Saluashvili, Zviad Baghdavadze, Shalva Natelashvili and Davit Bakradze.
The 2018 presidential elections will be held on October 28 in Georgia.
