Ambassador Pawel Herczynski: EU supports connecting with South Caucasus and Central Asia
“The European Union supports connectivity, and this is why we are happy to participate in this annual meeting of the TRACECA, an international organization that is linking Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia,” said Pawel Herczynski, EU Ambassador to Georgia.
According to the ambassador, the EU supports the development of TRACECA financially, and connectivity is one of the challenges that everyone faces.
“With our global gateway strategy, we want to contribute to connecting the European Union, South Caucasus and Central Asia. I wish the participants all the best. We are here to support all the efforts for the sustainable transport connection, rail and road, between the European Union and South Caucasus, with Georgia in the middle, further to Central Asia, especially now.
In today’s reality, with unjustified and unprovoked Russian aggression over Ukraine, the role of the Middle Coddidor is growing, and we are here to support trade connections through South Caucasus linking the European Union with Central Asia,” he said.
Tbilisi hosted the Sixteenth Annual Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) of the Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA) program.
