“Violence is not acceptable,” said EU Ambassador to Georgia, Paweł Herczyński.
“Violence is not acceptable. We would strongly support the right to peaceful demonstrations. But any form of violence by anyone is not acceptable in democratic countries. Freedom of expression and freedom of assembly are the key important elements of any democracy, but violence from anyone, under any pretext, is not acceptable. And I sincerely hope it will not happen in Georgia,” he said.
During the protest rally against the Transparency of Foreign Influence bil near the Parliament in Tbilisi on April 16, the protesters attacked Giorgi Abazadze, a journalist of TV Imedi.
