Pawel Herczynski, EU Ambassador to Georgia deems building military bases on the occupied breakaway territory of Abkhazia as “especially troubling and completely unacceptable.”
“European Union’s position is very clear. We are supporting Georgia’s independence, Georgia’s sovereignty and Georgia’s territorial integrity. Anything happening in occupied breakaway regions of Georgia should be decided by the Georgian authorities, by the Georgian government. Especially troubling, of course, is a project of building military bases on the occupied breakaway territory of Abkhazia. This is completely illegal and completely unacceptable,” he said.
