Ambassador, Head of the Mission of Georgia to NATO Viktor Dolidze Wednesday said, “We attach great importance to Ilia Darchiashvili’s visit to NATO. It is symbolic that the new Foreign Minister will show up before his colleagues at the NATO Ministerial for the first time.”
Viktor Dolidze claims Georgia-NATO relations are about to “enter a new stage.”
“Amid ongoing developments in Ukraine when the regional context is tense and, we all have to fight against such global threats and challenges, Georgia’s involvement is paramount. We are taking concrete steps in terms of cooperation with NATO. Our key political decision for the country and where it aspires is well known. At the same time, we are taking practical steps, just as our NATO partners are trying to help aspirant countries. So, this is the main topic to be discussed in bilateral and multilateral formats,” Dolidze told GPB First Channel.
Newly appointed Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili will visit the European Union and NATO on April 6-8.
