Aleko Elisashvili: Strong Georgia will not join boycott, has its own strategy

Aleko Elisashvili, one of the leaders of the coalition Strong Georgia, stated that his party will not join the eight opposition parties supporting an election boycott, emphasizing that they have their own path, vision, and strategy, while respecting the decisions of others.

Elisashvili was responding to yesterday’s statement by the eight opposition parties calling on other opposition groups and politicians to reject participation in the October 4 elections.

“We are in the election battle. On one side, we have the coalition Lelo – Strong Georgia, and on the other, the party Gakharia for Georgia. We have common candidates and have named shared majoritarian candidates. We see these elections as a battle to defeat the Georgian Dream and save the country,” Elisashvili said.

“There are eight parties supporting the boycott. We respect their decisions, but we are not going to join them. We have our own path, vision, and strategy. Let them go their way, and let us go ours. We believe they also want to defeat this government, but our approaches differ,” he added.
