Georgian Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, met with EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, in Brussels.
The European Commissioner acknowledged that granting candidate status to Georgia by the European Union is a significant step forward, emphasizing that Georgia has taken appropriate measures to achieve this goal.
Minister Shamugia announces that a working group has been established to coordinate the implementation of recommendations and develop an action plan. According to him, the group, in line with EU recommendations, will identify necessary measures and requirements for the effective and timely implementation of relevant activities.
The European Commissioner commended Georgia’s successful progress in implementing EU recommendations, stating that Georgia’s accession to the EU is important not only for the country but also for the EU and global security.
