Agriculture Minister hosts Ilham Aliyev at Georgian pavilion in Baku Agricultural Exhibition
Georgian Minister of Environment and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili is on an official visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, where he attended the opening of the CASPIAN AGRO 2026 International Agricultural Exhibition and the 31st Food Industry Exhibition.
The event was opened by Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov. After the opening ceremony, Songulashvili hosted the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, at the Georgian pavilion, which was organized by the Rural Development Agency and supported by the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
Speaking about Georgia’s participation, Songulashvili said the exhibition is one of the largest regional agri-food platforms and helps strengthen Georgia’s position in the region, expand trade relations, and increase export opportunities for Georgian producers. He noted that the presence of the Azerbaijani president at the Georgian pavilion highlights the importance of cooperation between the two countries.
The Georgian pavilion featured products such as wine, natural juices, confectionery, canned goods, honey, spices, and organic fertilizers from various Georgian companies.
The exhibition runs from May 5 to May 7 and includes participation from more than 20 countries, serving as a platform to deepen trade ties and promote agricultural exports between participating states.
