Agriculture Minister expects nut producers' revenues to exceed GEL 250 million
Georgian Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, recently met with nut producers at GeoNuts LTD in Senaki Municipality.
According to Minister Shamugia, with prices increasing by 30-40% for medium and high-quality nuts this year, revenues for nut producers are projected to exceed GEL 250 million.
The Minister highlighted nut production as a key priority for agricultural development. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of access to low-interest loans and co-financing from the Rural Development Agency.
Davit Khurodze, Director of GeoNuts, stated that the low-interest agro-credits subsidized by the state program have enabled the company to expand and modernize its irrigation systems.
Accompanying the Minister were Giorgi Guguchia, Regional Envoy for Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, and Davit Tsitlidze, Director of the Rural Development Agency.
