Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia inspected the advanced radar capabilities at Kutaisi Metrology Station on Monday.
The radars allow for the calculation of potential rainfall and harm prevention in west Georgia, the press service of the Government Administration reported on Monday.
The US Government financially supported the National Environmental Agency to install radar, the press service noted.
Georgian Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili, said the new radar would let the National Environmental Agency efficiently receive data on the types of clouds, their water content, direction, and speed of movement, along with other physical characteristics in the radius of 200-250 km from Kutaisi.
