Adjara TV and Radio issues statement

Adjara TV and Radio, part of the Georgian Public Broadcaster, has released a statement.

The statement notes that Adjara TV and Radio distances itself from any form of manifestation of homophobia.

“The host of the Mtavari news program was in a severe psycho-emotional state, caused by the fact that an unauthorized individual (Eter Turadze, who entered the broadcaster’s building without permission) was present in the studio during the broadcast, and had a Facebook Live session running, which resulted in aggression towards the host on social media, becoming the reason for their distress.

We apologize for this and reiterate that we distance ourselves from any expressions of homophobia,” the statement reads.
