Adjara Supreme Council approves Sulkhan Tamazashvili as government chairman

The Supreme Council of Adjara has approved the new government of the autonomous republic with 12 votes, as the Council reported.

During an extraordinary plenary session chaired by Davit Gabaidze, the Chairman of the legislative body, the nomination of Sulkhan Tamazashvili as Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic, along with his chosen ministers, was put to a vote.

The meeting focused on investment projects and significant initiatives planned across various sectors, including health, social protection, education, culture, tourism, and agriculture.

Before the vote, candidates answered questions from legislators, listened to their opinions, and considered their proposals.

In the lead-up to the plenary session, committee hearings, bureau sessions, and meetings of the Georgian Dream faction were held, during which the Chairman candidate and the unchanged Cabinet of Ministers presented their government program, action plan, and future vision.

The extraordinary plenary session was conducted behind closed doors.
