Chairman of the Government of Adjara Zurab Pataradze described the launch of construction on the charitable and educational center “Bethlehem” as an important milestone for the region, saying the long-planned initiative had become a reality.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Pataradze said the center would serve the people of Adjara by providing essential social and educational services.

“Today is a joyful and significant day for our region. An idea has become reality, and construction of a charitable and educational center that will serve our people and our region is beginning. Words have been turned into action, and today we are laying the foundation for this important project,” he said.

Pataradze stressed the importance of cooperation between the government, the Georgian Orthodox Church, and the private sector, saying such partnerships make it possible to implement projects that improve people’s well-being.

He thanked everyone involved in the initiative, with special recognition for Batumi and Lazeti Metropolitan Dimitri for his years of dedication and leadership. Pataradze also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for supporting initiatives benefiting both Georgia and the Adjara Autonomous Republic, saying timely decisions and swift government action are essential for the successful implementation of major projects.

The Adjara government chair also thanked the construction company Gumbati for supporting the project and expressed confidence that the center would be completed soon.

“I am confident that, together with the Prime Minister, we will gather here again in the near future to celebrate the opening of this facility and the implementation of many more important projects in the region,” Pataradze said.
