Ukrainian visitors, who are unable to return to Ukraine, will be accommodated at hotels and provided with needed service across Georgia.
The state, tourism and private sector is ready in the Adjara region to help the Ukrainian citizens. Tourism Department activated a hotline. Adjara Finance and Health Ministers met Ukrainian visitors already accommodated at hotels in Batumi.
“Terrible events are developing in our country. When I arrived in Georgia, I could not imagine that this would happen and I would not be able to go back. I am glad that we happened to be in Georgia in this difficult moment. We don’t feel ourselves as refugees here. Your people are agreeable and friendly. We are very grateful. Thank you,” said Ukrainian citizen Victoria Sulga.
Nearly 875,000 refugees have fled Ukraine since 24 February.
