Insulting medical personnel or hindering the performance of professional duties to become punishable
Insulting medical personnel during medical practice or hindering the performance of professional duties will become punishable.
The legislative amendment was initiated by Akaki Zoidze, the Chairman of the Committee on Health and Social Affairs and Zaza Bokhuadze the First Deputy Minister of Health of Georgia.
According to the initiative, hindering the performance of professional duties of medical personnel in any form, insulting, exerting psychological pressure, violence or threat will become punishable.
According to the initiators, the amendments aim at preventing violence and improving the quality of medical care.
