The 73rd mass baptism ceremony is being held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba) in Tbilisi.
Under the long-standing initiative established by Ilia II, every third and subsequent child born to a church-married family is baptized by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
The tradition, which has become one of the most significant spiritual and social initiatives of the Georgian Orthodox Church, continues today under the leadership of the Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III.
