A telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers discussed the current state and future prospects of the friendly and strategic partnership between the two countries. They emphasized that high-level political dialogue and intensive bilateral visits have contributed to the further strengthening of relations.
During the conversation, the importance of expanding high-level political contacts in the coming year was highlighted.
“The sides discussed regional trade and transport issues and welcomed ongoing efforts in this direction. The ministers expressed satisfaction with the agreement reached on tariffs for the transit of Azerbaijani oil products to Armenia via Georgia and stressed the importance of continuing work in this area. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked the Georgian leadership for the timely resolution of this issue,” the statement said.
The ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional matters, congratulated each other on the upcoming New Year, and expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would continue to strengthen in the year ahead.
