The visit of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to Croatia holds great significance as it marks the first high-level visit in the history of relations between the two countries. The Georgian Ambassador to Croatia sees this visit as the beginning of a new chapter in their bilateral ties, signifying a deepening of mutual cooperation.
The ambassador highlighted the similarities between Croatia and Georgia regarding territory, population, and recent historical experiences. Such commonalities make the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two nations particularly valuable.
“Croatia’s active support for Georgia’s aspirations to join the European Union is commendable, and this visit holds great importance in furthering the bilateral relationship. The recent establishment of a Georgian embassy in Zagreb, previously covered from Budapest, demonstrates a commitment to enhancing diplomatic ties and reflects the growing closeness between the two countries.
During the visit, the official opening of the new Georgian embassy will take place, with the participation of Prime Minister Garibashvili, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, and the Foreign Ministers of both countries. This joint event underscores the active and close relations between Croatia and Georgia,” the Georgian Ambassador to Croatia declared.
