The remaining sixteen Georgian citizens stuck in Kabul have returned home from Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Sunday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandre Khvisiashvili thanked Georgia’s partner countries for helping with their evacuation.

“Our partners were America, Britain, Hungary, and Turkey. I would like to thank every one of them for their help in bringing our citizens safe,” Deputy Minister stressed.

Georgia kicked off the withdrawal of its citizens from Kabul after the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.
