Georgia reports 4,743 coronavirus cases, 3,393 recoveries, 59 deaths

Georgia reported 4,743 coronavirus cases, 3,393 recoveries, and 59 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,860 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 677 cases, and the Imereti region with 573 cases.

A total of 46,389 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 29,181 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,208 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 10,22 %, while 10,86 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 506,040, among them 440,370 people recovered and 6,649 died.

There are 77 people quarantined, 7,238 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 3,458 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities, 48,299 are treated at home.

As of August 20, 907,665 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, among them, 266,962 are fully vaccinated.
