Anaklia Development Consortium not planning to present any document to government today
Anaklia Development Consortium does not plan to present any document to the government today – Levan Akhvlediani, General Director of the consortium said.
Akhvlediani said that the consortium had presented its plan and called on the government for holding negotiations. However, he claimed that the statement of Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure meant that it reflected the standpoint of the government.
According to Akhvlediani, if the government terminated the agreement with the consortium, not a single respectable investor or an international financial institute would participate in the project. “The project will be suspended for a long time. Therefore, we hope that the government will take reasonable measures,” Akhvlediani said.
The deadline expires today for Anaklia Development Consortium to present the document that confirms filling up capital fully by the investor. The Consortium also has to present a non-compulsory document that has to do with obtaining credit finances from banks.
In case of non-fulfillment of interim liabilities, the government has the right to cancel investment agreement with Anaklia Development Consortium – Maia Tskitishvili, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure said.
Anaklia Development Consortium consists of specialized firms with diverse backgrounds, which together form a global business leadership team that will work with the Government of Georgia to construct Anaklia Deepwater Port.
