The Georgian Public Broadcaster has been an active member of the European Broadcasting Union since 2005 and shares the EBU six core values, which contribute to public broadcasting existence in a democratic society.<\/p>\n

These values are universality, independence, excellence, diversity, accountability, innovation.<\/p>\n

The European Broadcasting Union unites 113 public media organizations from 56 countries.<\/p>\n

A European Perspective<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

GPB joined A European Perspective<\/a> project in 2023.<\/p>\n

European Perspective is an initiative of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) aimed at creating a pan-European networked newsroom, where journalists from different European countries work together towards a common goal: to produce diverse, cross-cultural content and make reliable, verified online news produced by Europe\u2019s public service media more accessible to the public.<\/p>\n

The members of European Perspective are Georgia (GPB), Belgium (RTBF), Estonia (ERR), France (France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions), Germany (BR24), Ireland (RT\u00c9), Latvia (LSM.lv), Lithuania (LRT), Portugal (RTP), Spain (RTVE), Sweden (SR), Switzerland (SWI swissinfo.ch), Czechia (\u010cT), Greece (ERT), Bulgaria (BNT and BNR), Poland (Polskie Radio), Ukraine (Suspilne Ukraine), the Franco-German broadcaster ARTE, Agence France-Presse (AFP), the Danish Constructive Institute, and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).<\/p>\n

As part of the European Perspective project, news stories are translated into the languages of the participating countries using artificial intelligence, requiring minimal human involvement.<\/p>\n

On the Georgian Public Broadcaster\u2019s online platform, 1tv.ge<\/a>, news from 22 newsrooms across 18 European countries is available in Georgian. In turn, news from the Georgian Public Broadcaster\u2019s online platform is published on the web portals of broadcasters in all countries participating in the project.<\/p>\n

Eurovision Sport<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

GPB offers audiences access to Eurovision Sport events through its streaming platform, 1tvplay.ge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eurovision Sport is the European Broadcasting Union\u2019s major sports streaming platform. It provides live and on-demand coverage of sporting events broadcast by Europe\u2019s leading public service media organisations and various international sports federations.<\/p>\n

EBU News Exchange, Music Exchange and Program Exchange<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Georgian Public Broadcaster has access to content from broadcasters in 56 European countries, including news, music and a wide range of programmes. This enables the organisation to remain at the forefront of global events, broadcast high-quality programmes and offer radio audiences the finest music.<\/p>\n

Representation on EBU Committees<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Georgian Public Broadcaster is represented on the following EBU committees:<\/p>\n
