Zviad Kvachantiradze quit post

Zviad Kvachantiradze Chairman of the Parliamentary Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Committee quit his post.

Kvachantiradze made the statement about his resignation during the plenary session before the repeated balloting over the issue about his dismissal would be held.

The first balloting in the parliament over the issue was held earlier today. However, Kvachantiradze’s dismissal was not approved. The 67 lawmakers voted for and 8 – against. The votes of 76 MPs were needed to dismiss Kvachantiradze from the post.
