Youth organisations deliver congratulatory letter to EU leaders on Europe Day
In celebration of Europe Day, youth organisations in Georgia delivered a letter to EU Ambassador Paweł Herczyński at the EU Delegation’s office in Tbilisi.
The letter, addressed to President of the European Council António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, expresses gratitude and respect for the European Union’s loyal partnership and ongoing support for Georgia.
The youth groups emphasise that this gesture reflects their appreciation for the EU’s steadfast commitment to Georgia’s democratic development and prosperity.
“On behalf of Georgian youth, we congratulate you on Europe Day—a celebration of unity, peace, solidarity, and shared values that have inspired generations across our continent.
We extend our deep respect and sincere gratitude to the European Union, which has played a pivotal role in supporting Georgia’s path toward democratic progress and prosperity. The EU’s unwavering partnership has strengthened Georgia’s sovereignty, civic society, and youth development. We stand united under common values—democracy, solidarity, freedom, and the rule of law—that form the core of both our national identities and our shared European heritage.
For us, European integration is not merely a political goal but a civilizational choice rooted in our history, culture, and future aspirations. As we celebrate Europe Day together, it is more vital than ever to reinforce European solidarity with Georgia, its youth, and civil society. We trust that our European friends will continue to support our generation’s ambitions, including the right to free travel within Europe and active participation in shaping our shared future.
Despite numerous challenges, Georgian youth remain confident that our place is within a united European family. Our aspirations are grounded in European ideals—freedom, fairness, and solidarity.
We recognise that Georgia’s pursuit of EU candidate status carries additional responsibilities, and we are grateful for the trust placed in us. Our generation is committed to demonstrating that we deserve this confidence and will work tirelessly to justify it.
We reaffirm our dedication to Georgia’s European integration and the “Youth Consent Act” signed two years ago, which reflects the collective will of Georgian youth to contribute to Europe’s strength and freedom.
Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on this symbolic day. May the ideals that unite us continue to grow stronger in the future,” the letter concludes.
