World leaders expressed condolence to Georgia due to the tragedy caused by fire at Leogrand Hotel in Batumi. Eleven people died as a result of the fire on November 24.

November 27, 2017, was declared as Mourning Day at the decision of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Georgian government.
Eleven people died as a result of the fire, which broke out last evening at 5-star Leogrand Hotel in Batumi. Ten people are citizens of Georgia, one – Iran. More than 100 people were evacuated from the building.
The investigation is underway under Article 243 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the violation of fire safety norms.
Fire broke out at at 20:00 on November 24.
