Women appeal to President with demand of ex-president’s release

The opposition Droa party published an appeal of 562 women to President Salome Zourabichvili.

The signatories urge the President to pardon ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili by using her constitutionally granted right to “save Saakashvili’s life and Georgia’s European perspective.”

The women claim that President should act to “avoid further polarization and de-humanization of the state.”

“Take the correct decision for the idea of independent, pro-western Georgia where nobody will be persecuted, tortured and killed based on Vladimir Putin’s scenario,” reads the letter.
