WHO Chief to Georgian PM: We must act together to end this pandemic
Director general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus appreciates Georgian Prime Minister’s commitment to Health For All and efforts to advocate for equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
“Thank you for a very good call, Georgian Prime Minister, Gakharia Giorgi. I truly appreciate your commitment to health for All and efforts to advocate for equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. We must act together to end this pandemic,” the WHO Chief tweeted on Saturday.
Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia and Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) held a telephone conversation on Saturday.
WHO Director-General praised the preventive steps made by the Georgian authorities during the first phase of the epidemic, as well as the response measures taken during the second wave by curbing a further spread and management of treatment for the contracting individuals.
