“Don’t you want to live; I’ll shoot your heads off!” – This is one of the threats, Salome Zurabishvili, the independent presidential candidate and her children received through text and voice messages.
The headquarters of Salome Zurabishvili conveyed the screenshots of messages to the First Channel. In the text messages, a certain person mentions Zurabishvili and her children with obscene words and calls on her to leave Georgia in time. There are also audio recordings containing obscene expressions of similar content.
According to Salome Zurabishvili’s lawyer Dimitri Gabunia, he listened to the audio messages and saw screenshots, “Mikheil Saakashvili’s name was mentioned. That person is not fake. It is possible to identify him”, he said.
At a briefing held today, Independent presidential candidate Salome Zurabishvili has claimed that she and her family members were threatened with death. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has already launched an investigation with regard to the case.
