Viktor Orbán: Georgia to become EU member state

During a joint briefing with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary and current holder of the EU Council Presidency, made a definitive statement about Georgia’s European future.

In response to a journalist’s question about Georgia’s prospects for EU membership, particularly in light of recent statements from some EU member states’ leaders, Orbán replied: “Don’t be so concerned about what some countries are saying – Georgia will definitely become a member state of the European Union.”
