Victor Boştinaru – Georgia struggles for restoration of territorial integrity and former Soviet Diplomat will not thus be suitable for presidential post
Georgia struggles for the restoration of territorial integrity and tries to deepen relations with the European Union. Under such circumstances, the person, who was a former Soviet diplomat, Soviet expert of nuclear weapons and Russian Ambassador, will not be suitable for the post of President of Georgia – Victor Boştinaru, Romanian politician and a member of Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament told First Channel.
According to Boştinaru, the person with such a biography and such past would never become a presidential candidate in Romania. He explained that it did not matter the candidate represented National Movement Party or Georgian Dream Party.
“I see the problem with the moral side. I hate politicians who do one thing and speak the other. I want to see the leaders and politicians who would be consistent. Politics is related to symbolism and one cannot close the eyes on facts, symbolism and separate them from trustfulness,” MEP said.
The candidate of National Movement Party cannot be a suitable person on the post of President of Georgia, Victor Boştinaru, a member of Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament stated.
“We believe that Georgia and Moldova are important countries for the European Union. Both countries and especially Georgia reached significant progress. Stability and quality of democracy shown during the presidential elections are noteworthy. We do not think that former Ambassador of Russia such as the presidential candidate of National Movement is not acceptable as president of Georgia,” Boştinaru said.
